The dentist will request to know the medications you are taking and examine your medical history. The information contained in the medical history will help the dentist and the entire care teams understand if there are any underlying diseases or conditions and how this is affecting your dental health.
To speed up the process, all of our dental patients are issued an online medical history form. The form can be printed, faxed or returned to the clinic during the appointment date. Dr. Scott normally carries out a diagnostic x-ray to analyze the cavities, existing abnormalities, bone health. The center encourages oral cancer screening as it can help catch early-stage cancer. Conditions such as Temporomandibular Joints (TMJ) can be spotted by analyzing the lower jaw movement.
A periodontal exam is also carried out to assess the gums and surrounding bones.
